Barbie’s Vital Mission: Beyond the Ordinary

When it comes to women’s health, we’re talking about more than just pregnancy or childbirth. It’s about vitality, that vibrant energy that makes us fierce, fearless, and fabulous. Barbie’s latest mission isn’t about space travel or academia but something vital: a visit to a gynaecologist. This is the real endgame, the hidden superpower in every woman.

Awakening our inner Barbies requires focusing on both acupressure and yoga. Let’s begin with a unique acupressure point: Spleen 6 (SP6, Sanyinjiao ). This acupressure point belongs to the Spleen Meridian. It is situated where the three Yin channels of the foot intersect, with the liver, spleen, and kidney channels layered shallow to deep.

The Power of SP6: Understanding its Benefits

According to a new Public Health England (PHE) survey, 31% of women experience severe reproductive health problems, but unfortunately, less than half of them seek help. This highlights the importance of addressing reproductive health proactively.
To support women’s reproductive health, SP6 acupressure point offers incredible benefits:

#Improves fertility
#Balances hormones

Guided Steps to Access the SP6 Acupressure Point

Here’s a step-by-step guide to finding the SP6 acupressure point: Locate the Ankle Bone: Start by finding the inner ankle bone (medial malleolus) on either foot. Measure Four Finger Widths Above the Ankle Bone: Place four fingers of your hand just above the ankle bone. The width of the four fingers gives you the approximate location of the Sanyinjiao point.

Find the Shinbone (Tibia): Feel for the back edge of the shinbone, which is located just above your four fingers. Locate the SP6 Point: The Sanyinjiao point is located just behind the shinbone, a finger’s width away from the bone, in a soft depression. It should feel slightly tender when pressed.

Apply Acupressure: Using your thumb or finger, gently apply pressure to the SP6 point. The pressure should be firm but not painful. You can massage in a circular motion for a few minutes, depending on your comfort level.

Caution: pregnant women should avoid applying pressure to the SP6 point, as it may induce labour.

Yoga’s Contribution: The Butterfly Pose

Complementing this is the Yoga Butterfly Pose. This pose promotes flexibility and stimulates the pelvic organs, offering a comprehensive approach to reproductive wellness.
